T-shirts And Ways Of Working With Them

By Havengar de Avela

T-shirts paired with jeans create one of the most worn outfits in the world. T-shirts are considered among the very basics of fashion necessities, and not to own at least one is thought to be on a par with not owning underwear.

In its plainness it is one of the most adaptable garments of all. Perhaps it is the simplicity of its form and the straightforward way it is put on, but it can be styled in numerous ways. This is especially true considering that there are many types of t-shirts to choose from.

For instance, a smart, pressed, plain color item can be worn with black trousers and shoes to create a more well turned out look. Collared shirts and golf shirts work especially well for this.

If a skirt is well-fitted and modest, it can also be combined with a polo shirt. However, more elaborate skirts can be worn as long as the color matches and does not clash. It would also be ideal to style the hair in a way that's simply neat, and then using subtle accessories that will not detract from the stylishness of the outfit.

Since the aim here is to take the garment away from its casual roots and make it neater, too much ostentation will highlight any frivolity. Of course, there is some variation allowed, here. It is also invaluable during cold weather, as well as warm weather. When dressing during the winter, it is better to use a lot of thin layers than a lot of bulky ones. The t-shirt is useful here, as it can be worn both under things and over them.

It can be worn over the top of a shorter sleeved top, or even a long-sleeved top, allowing a sweater to be worn easily over that. The lack of bulk will make the outfit stylish and mobility easier, even inside and after the over-coat has been removed. Done appropriately, this method can be used both casually and as part of a more sophisticated ensemble.

Lastly, color is important. Black and white t-shirts are useful as they can be worn with almost anything. They work well as a base for striking jewellery and hair-styles without taking attention away from them or making the outfit too busy with detail. Other colors can work well for this, but its worth remembering that louder colors will be more difficult to match with other things, particularly if the shirt is supposed to be part of a more tasteful outfit.
