What Makes Laser Skin Treatment Different From The Rest

By Andrew Hernandez

The improvements in lasers today are quite amazing. Today, they come in form of bar code scanners, laser printers and compact disk players. Also, lasers are used by surgeons in performing intricate procedures via photons rather than scalpels and in addition, ophthalmologist to fix detached retinas.

A surgeon claimed that upon using glycolic acid, it can exfoliate the skin as what lasers can do. Other effects of this on the skin are the following even skin color, improves tone, rejuvenates skin and appearance of pores are minimized.

The following procedures are to be followed if a client wants to have a laser facial peel. It is a must that everyone in the treatment room should be wearing a protective eye gear. Next, the skin will be cleansed and after which, a solution will be applied. After this, a laser beam as small as the size of a small coin will be traced over the skin.

Laser is like a hot needle piercing though your skin. After less than an hour, the change on your skin would be evident because you would see it glowing. After this 12hour procedure, patients' skin becomes sensitive and in order to protect them from the heat of the sun, they are required to wear moisturizers.

Laser makes it possible to have your hair removed in places that you don't want hair to grow. In fact, experts say that lasers can do even more because it can treat patients with hormonal hair growth problems. And because of this, lasers can be considered as a form of hair maintenance treatment. Hair follicles would be unable to produce new hairs because of lasers.

The therapist claims that different stages of hair growth are present. If hair is in the unreceptive resting stage, then definitely it would be unaffected by the initial laser treatment. But if hair enters the growing stage, that's the time it reacts to laser treatment.

In every session for a growing phase, it is estimated that around 20 percent of hair would be affected. Laser definitely is a lot more effective because hair grows after six to eight weeks, as compared to wax treatment wherein hair grows three or four weeks after. As what he said, laser makes it possible for hair to grow thinner every time it grows.

Only when hair is much thinner, the client will be able to attend fewer hair removal sessions which will only happen on the client's second year of treatment but during the first year, she is required to have four treatments. To be able to have a successful hair removal session, what they do is that carbon based lotion is applied on the skin to attract more laser light. The effect of this is that hair will voluntarily fall off after one week. The surgeon said that laser treatment is definitely a safe procedure because of two main reasons, it has the approval of the US Food and Drug Administration and laser used here is low on energy.
