Building up confidence is not easy. Everybody wants to, but few understand just how to do it. On the one hand, it can be situational. You can be really good at playing pinball, but horrible at tennis. When people talk about playing pinball, you might be really confident. On the other hand, when people talk about getting together for a game of tennis, you might to get really nervous. So it's tough to understand what we're talking about when we talk about building confidence.

Generally speaking, when people speak of confidence, they are speaking of interpersonal confidence. That means having the ability to walk up to pretty much anybody, and start a conversation without worrying about what's going to happen. Most people would absolutely love to do this, but they are also absolutely terrified. In order to do this, you've got to change your beliefs.

You can do this two ways. One is to simply go out there, and talk to as many people as possible. This will build up your real world experience. You will begin to realize on a deep level that nothing bad will happen when you speak with other people. If you do these enough, and long enough, your confidence will slowly build over time.



Of course, few people, even if they start with amazing willpower and dedication, would be able to complete such a task. While it makes a lot of sense on paper, there's really few people who could go out there, day after day, and force themselves to talk to strangers. Just thinking about it would send most people into a nervous sweat. Obviously, we need another solution.

But there is another way. An easier way. You can easily use self hypnosis to change your beliefs about yourself. This is much easier, and much quicker than doing it through brute force. How do you do it? Easy as pie. Simply get yourself into a relaxed state of mind, and repeat to yourself things you'd like to believe about yourself.

In order to do this, just sit back in your most comfortable chair. Start off by relaxing your feet, then relax your legs, then your torso, upper arms, face and neck. Or you can simply breath deeply and slowly and count back from ten to one. Once you are in that sleepy, relaxed state, start to give your brain some positive statements that you'd like to be true. Be sure to include plenty of good emotions, as they will help them sink in a lot quicker.

Many people are absolutely amazed when they see how powerful this method is. All you've got to do is try it out a few times, and you'll be a believer.
