We seek out direction, wisdom, and consume massive amounts of information to help us try to find some sense in of all this. This uncertainty can seduce us into trying to digest surface level pseudo-spirituality in order to help us understand ourselves. But without understanding context and avoiding diving into the depths we set ourselves up for disaster.

And that's really what all of this surface level stuff is when it boils down to it - wallpaper. It is what you put over something to cause it to look all pretty and nice. Life isn't all pretty and nice. Life is mucky. Life can be vicious. Life can test you and bring you to your knees whenever it feels like it. No matter how much you try to avoid specific things occurring, life acts as a pro dart thrower, hitting it's target every single time - regardless of how fast it's moving.
Give up thinking that you know everything and be constantly surpassed by what life has to offer you. Instead of presuming what the future is going to offer, let it do its thing and you will not be let down one bit. Dive into experiencing life at a foundational level and open yourself up to experiencing everything that it has to offer and you will find the true madness and excitement in all real things.
But you have to build your foundations first.
So it's time to go to work. It's time to focus more on building the strong foundation and support structure of your life instead of focusing on the outer layers. Sure it's easier to focus on those outer layers because it's cheaper. But if you really want to make some changes, you have to start at your core.
