Routine Practices Used In Plant Health Care MT

By Susan Johnson

The plants should be taken good care of while in the field for them to grow with good health. Checkups should be done occasionally so as to ensure this objective is achieved. The place where the crops have been planted is safe for the harvest to be excellent. The hygiene in the farm needs to be desirable for proper growth and sustainable methods of farming. This will maximize the yields in the long run. Discussed below are some of the important practices done in plant health care MT.

The first practice is controlling pests on the farm. This involves using insecticides to kill harmful insects in the garden. The seeds used during propagation should also be free from attack. Other methods of ensuring the crops are healthy also include; using tolerant and resistant varieties, crop rotation and also keeping beds clean. In a situation where they are not controlled, they cause negative effects to the plants.

Secondly, there should be soil fertility management practices. This involves the use of compost manure to add nutrients to the soil so as to make the vegetation grow vigorously. Mulch materials should also be used to avoid evaporation of moisture, control soil erosion and suppress weeds. This will boost the composition of the soil minerals, making the plant to be strong. They will also be free from attack.

Another practice is weed control on the farm. These unwanted crops on the farm cause a lot of problems in the garden. They compete for nutrients, making the main produce lack the necessary elements thus becoming weak. They also act as hosts for harmful pathogens which degrade the quality of those which have been planted. They should therefore be removed regularly so as to ensure growth of healthy plants.

Another crucial aspect is practicing irrigation. This should be done in dry areas or during seasons where there is no rain. It helps in the growth of vigorous seedlings. It has to be carried out early in the morning and late in the evening. This will make the crops healthy and thus the harvest will be of good quality.

Another crucial aspect is ensuring there is good air circulation. This will reduce the incidences of attack by fungal diseases. It will also make the plants weak due to insufficient carbon dioxide supply from the environment. Control measures include pruning the excess branches and uprooting excess seedlings. The farmer may also choose to cultivate the crops in a place where there is free flow of air.

In addition, there should be routine disease management. There are pathogens which transmit diseases on the farm. This makes the plants loose quality. This condition can be tackled in various ways which include; destruction of the affected stems. Chemicals may also be sprayed to kill the carriers. This will ensure growth of healthy crops.

Finally, there should be provision of enough sunlight. The amount of sunshine a plant gets will determine the health conditions. The location should be able to allow enough light to reach them. This may also be done by uprooting overcrowded vegetation to create space for the penetration. This will increase the chlorophyll matter.
